The Latest Kindergarten Happenings...
Week 27 Update
Hello! Happy March! We are inching closer and closer to spring! I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some spring-like weather!
Here is your weekly update:
-Friday, March 13 is a half-day of school. Dismissal is at noon and lunch is not served.
-Reading Month fun continues here at Marshall! Our school is now decorated in the spirit of Reading Month, which the kids greatly enjoy. Next week’s reading log will be coming home with your child today. Please help your child keep track of their reading on their reading log so they can earn the all-school reward of a movie at the Van Singel and an ice cream sundae bar. Reading logs are due each Friday. If your child happens to forget their reading log on a Friday, they can certainly turn it in the following week. Enjoy!
-Keep in mind your child’s timeline project is due March 13.

"Housekeeping" Items...
-We LOVE celebrating birthdays in kindergarten! We have a student in our class with a tree nut allergy, so please be mindful of this when choosing birthday treats.
-Thursdays are library day! Please return your child’s library book to school on Thursdays so they are able to check a new book out.
-Please keep in mind that your child's VIP folder is to be emptied every night, and returned to school the following day.
-If your child is still learning to tie their shoes, it is helpful if you send them to school with either Velcro or slip-on shoes, particularly on gym days when students are taking their shoes on and off. Gym days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
-Please send 2 snacks (morning and afternoon) to school with your child each day. Keeping these snacks separate from your child’s cold lunch (if they have brought a lunch from home) is helpful, as kindergarten students often have a tough time differentiating between their lunch and snack. Thank you!
-Your child is welcome to bring a water bottle with them to school as part of their snack. Please refrain from sending juice for snack (juice as part of their lunch is okay). Thanks!
